To the Fall

Review: To the Fall - Prescott Lane - March 2018

At first, I wasn't too sure what to expect as it seemed like a romance novel where the main guy was a sex addict and a workaholic which is like most romance novels where the main guy is the character. He is sentenced to therapy where is therapist Dr. Lorraine puts him on a sex diet which you can guess is difficult and has a few setbacks as he can't keep it in his pants of course. Then about halfway through to near the end of the book, To the Fall takes a dark turn and twist that I never saw coming and it throws all that you thought this book was out of the window. Pierce Kingston has some deep and dark unresolved issues, which only his best childhood friend Annie understands. I thought that this might have been a friends to lovers novel, but nope I was wrong again as we are introduced to Sutton who owns the opposition hotel. She seems perfect for Pierce and doesn't put up with his charming wiles, but makes him work for what he wants. Pierce has only ever loved three women in his life - his mother, Annie and his sister. On the surface, this book doesn't seem like much, but like an onion or Shrek - it has many layers, and as you read, a layer is removed right until the bare bones and last sliver of truths from Pierce on the very end of the last page. I had hoped that we could have had Pierce's truth revealed to his sister as that and Annie's story, I felt I had no closure on. If you want an edgy romance read told from a Male's POV then To the Fall by Prescott Lane is the read for you.
