Review: Pretty Lost Dolls - K.Webster and Ker Dukey

Pretty Lost Dolls (Pretty Little Dolls, #2)

Review: Pretty Lost Dolls - Book #2 Pretty Little Dolls - Ker Dukey and K. Webster - November 2016
Lately, I have been on a Dark Fiction kick, and after talking to one of my book friends, we both decided to read this series. Pretty Lost Dolls starts up where Book #1 finished as Jade and Bo find themselves kidnapped by Benny who now goes as Benjamin. Jade is once again the Pretty Little Doll, and Bo is Macy's plaything. Jade is reunited with her sister, but is shocked to find her sister is now just as psychotic and crazy as Benny, maybe even worse. Can Jade's partner and new lover Dillon Scott find her and save her once again from Benny's clutches? In Book #2 we also get more of Benny's backstory and find out what kind of life he grew up with and what happened to his sister Bethany and eventually how the Dolls idea and killings came into play. OMG the shocking twist for me in Pretty Lost Dolls was discovering who Benny's father was and the role he has been playing in Jade's life while she was free. I didn't see that coming. Once again Jade gets free, but what happens when they take a new little dolly to play with - this time in the form of Dillon's niece, Jasmine? This series is getting darker and crazier as the books go on and perfect if you love dark and edgy fiction novels and not afraid of rape, abuse, and torture in books. The other thing I have found this series doing is getting the Miss Polly song stuck in my head, and yes I did sing along to the lyrics and the deadications.

Review: The Elizas - Sara Shepard

The Elizas

Review: The Elizas - Sara Shepard - April 2018
Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling

One of my favorite authors is Sara Shepard; I fell in love with her about 8-10 years ago when I first discovered the book Pretty Little Liars. I then went on to read everything she had ever written and recently I got to meet her when I attended the RT2017 in Atlanta. She was amazing. So when I saw on Netgalley, a new release by her - I just had to read it. The Elizas is written with more the New Adult-Adult audience in mind and like her other series has a psychological twist to the story. In The Elizas, we meet Eliza Fontaine who is now being seen as trying to kill herself by her family and friends, but she knows different - she was pushed into the pool that fateful night. Now Eliza must try and untangle the web of lies and deception to find out what happened that night at the hotel. In The Elizas, we are also given a bit of an Inception twist with it being a Book within a Book. Eliza Fontaine is also an upcoming bestselling author of a book called Dots. It was created after she had surgery for her brain tumor. I have to admit, in some parts, I was like I could see this coming, and in others, it was like just when you were certain it was something - bam - out comes another twist and turn in the story. The Elizas by Sara Shepard keeps readers on their toes as they try to get to the bottom of what happened with Eliza at the hotel and what secrets her friends and family are all hiding.  If you are a fan of Sara Shepard's books, then this is one release you will want to add to your 2018 wishlist.

Review : Close to You - Tamara Lush

Close to Me

Review: Close to Me - Tamara Lush - February 2017

I have to admit when I first clicked on to read this book, I was expecting a full size novel . I didn't realise until I had finished the book that it was in fact a short story. When I say short story, this book is only 26 pages long and is definitely a quick bite read. The book is set in a Yoga Studio and Vivian has just returned to the workforce after what seems like a bout of tragedy which resulted in her developing PTSD. She is left a massage card by Zach who was a soldier and now working in the same building as a massage therapist. She calls and they start off with an innocent thai massage which leads of course to a full-on sensual sexual encounter. Close to Me was a quick erotica short story and left you with a few unanswered questions as many a short stories do.

Bourbon Sins (Bourbon, #1)

Review: Bourbon Sins - Book #1 Jett Girl Series - Meghan Quinn - October 2017
I have always been a Meghan Quinn fan, so when I saw that she had re-released her Becoming a Jett Girl series I had to get around to reading it finally. I loved it as it was set in New Orleans and after being there in May 2017, it sparked memories of the places as Meghan had Goldie set up a store in Jackson Square, visit Cafe Dumond for the beignets and Bourbon Street fun and even mentioning the morning sanitation crew which I too was impressed with. Goldie is busy working and trying to stay afloat after her parents both died and then Hurrican Katrina hit. Goldie has attracted the attention of Jett Colby, and he wants her as one of his Jett Girls. Kace who btw had my attention doesn't think she is cut out to be one and we see the start of a possible love triangle forming but eventually becomes a love square as before Goldie becoming a Jett Girl she was the mistress of Rex Titan whose history goes way back with Jett Colby.  Will Goldie aka Lo stay as a Jett Girl or will her heart go to Rex Titan? I am now looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see if Kace gets his own story as out of the guys he was my favorite.
